The Kitchen (20ft long) was refurbished in June 2013 with stainless steel appliances and work surfaces. It consists of two double ovens and a 6 ring hob, a fridge/freezer, industrial dishwasher, instant water boiler and stainless steel table. Tea and coffee making including cups and saucers for 200. There is a small number of tea pots, trays and jugs. Crockery (dinner and side plates, dessert bowls and soup bowls for 200) is available on request. There are serving hatches to both the main hall and meeting room. Basic equipment for serving hot and cold drinks is provided. There is a rear door to the kitchen for easy loading/unloading access to car park. Users are asked to bring tea towels and bin bags to remove any waste materials.
The Meeting Room is heated by radiators and is lit by fluorescent tubes and wall lights. The large window offers views across the playing field to Lollover Hill and the Levels. It seats up to 30 ‘theatre style’ or 20 ‘board room’ style – 9m x 5m / 30ft x 16ft. It adjoins the main hall via double doors. In 2017, as part of our continuous upgrading of the facilities, we have installed double glazed doors between the meeting room and main hall in order to reduce noise passed between the two rooms.
There is a large playing field adjacent to the hall. This is available for use by hirers. It is, however, a public space and cannot, therefore, be reserved for the sole use of hirers. There is a children’s play area and a boules terrain.
We also have a small projector screen and digital projector available for hire in conjunction with hiring the hall.
In September 2015 we installed Solar panels on our south facing roof. We hope to develop this resource in the future to make more use of the electricity generated.
